Sarah Ferguson enjoyed her return to the royal fold at Princess Eugenie's royal wedding, but she was still in "exclusion zone," according to a body language expert.

The Duchess of York joined the royal family, as well as, Jack Brooksbank's close family members for the newlyweds' official photographs. In the snaps, Ferguson can be seen to the right of the photograph near Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice. According to Judi James, Ferguson's position in the portrait has a meaning.

"There seems to be a very subtle exclusion zone around Sarah during the official photos that would define her divorced status," James told Express. "She and Andrew stand away at the far end of the back row while Jack's parents nestle beside him, and the large spatial gap is barely filled by daughter Beatrice."

In addition, the bridesmaid opt to skip Princess Eugenie's entrance to be with their mother. Princess Eugenie's sister made sure that Ferguson won't feel alone during the ceremony.

"Beatrice did seem to spend the ceremony acting as companion and support-in-chief to Sarah to ensure she didn't look too isolated and lonely and this pose suggests she is still operating in this role," James continued. "In reality the huge gap is actually more about the fact that Philip and the Queen are sitting in front, but given the history it does appear to take on some extra significance."

In related news, the Duke and Duchess of York remain amicable following their divorce. However, they didn't show any signs of affection at their daughter's big day. James believed that they avoided to be tactile so as not to steal the show from their daughter. In addition, the couple reportedly didn't want to trigger Prince Philip, who had a rift with Ferguson, as the 97-year-old royal was seated behind them.

"These two are often seen using the kind of body language signals together that might hint they is still some sort of spark between, them but at their daughter's wedding it did at times look more like a freeze-out as Andrew paid the minimum amount of attention to his ex-wife's presence," James said about the exes' actions.

"Andrew and Sarah are often seen together using body language to suggest they are still as close as ever but there were no signals of warmth, closeness or affection today during the service itself," she added.
