Sarah Ferguson was saved by Prince Andrew.

The Duke and Duchess of York remain good friends years after their divorce. This week, Prince Andrew saved his ex-wife after the latter failed to make it to an appointment.

According to Hello! the Duchess of York was set to attend the launch of one of the Children’s Air Ambulance’s new helicopters in the gardens of Lamberth Palace — a charity that she has been supporting for many years as their patron. Unfortunately, she was not able to attend, so the Duke of York stepped in for her.

Prince Andrew delivered a short speech to thank the charity for their amazing work and addressed the families who have receieved assistance from the rescue service.

Prince Andrew was in great spirits at the event. Ferguson’s ex-husband even joked that the airplanes were trying to compete with the helicopters as they flew during his speech.

“The Children's Air Ambulance is an important charity which helps save the lives of so many babies and young children. These aircraft make a real difference to these young patients where speed can be the difference between life and death,” Prince Andrew said.

“Without transfer by helicopter there could have been very different outcomes to the lives of those saved by the service and their many stories are a testament to that fact. I know the introduction of a second helicopter will help the charity to reach even more children across the country but to ensure they can continue this lifesaving work it is important that donations keep coming in.”

There are rumors that Prince Andrew and Ferguson have already reconciled, but they denied it. A royal expert said that it’s impossible for the two to remarry another other people because the exes’ amicable arrangement will likely continue.

Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly angry with Ferguson following her split from Prince Andrew. Her Majesty felt that she initiated the breakup.

The palace was also horrified when they saw Ferguson with another man while Prince Andrew was away. The Duke of York was in the navy when they saw Ferguson with Steve Wyatt. The two shared a close friendship, but there was a “huge amount of speculation” about their real relationship as he was once heard calling the duchess “my woman.”
