Sarah Ferguson was beaming when she attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding but in contrary she was actually feeling “vulnerable and insecure.”

The Duke and Duchess of York’s 10-year-marriage ended in divorce in 1996. After Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s separation, she was frozen out from the royal family. She wasn’t even invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.

However, Prince Harry is very close to Ferguson. The Duke of Sussex fought the palace just to invite Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s mom on his big day with Markle. Indeed, Ferguson made her return to the royal fold when she showed up at Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding.

Ferguson arrived at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, alone. She was all smiles as she waved to the crowd, but body language expert Judi James noticed that something was off, the duchess’ wasn’t really that confident at the time.

“She was doing these little baby waves and a slightly creeping walk,” James explained in “Pod Save the Queen” podcast.

“She was clearly doing a good act of lowering her own status, it was as though she was creeping in via the servants’ entrance,” the expert continued.

James added that it was unnecessary and to make matters worse, one of her daughters asked, "Where’s mum?" which is for her a “bit mean.” Since Markle’s mom Doria Ragland attended the event on her own, James said that the two women should have been put together.

Podcast host Ann Gripper pointed out how Ferguson was the center of attention when she walked her way to the church. James said that Ferguson was “striding out and using it as a catwalk.”

“But when you look closely, it’s interesting how much effort she was putting in to looking that brave,” James added.

Ferguson made an appearance in another royal wedding on the same year when her daughter Princess Eugenie tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank. Ferguson sat beside her ex-husband Prince Andrew during the ceremony.

The two remain friends following their divorce and have been spotted together from time to time. There are even rumors that they were back together. However, they were not as affectionate during their daughter’s big day.

According to rumors, Prince Andrew and Ferguson didn’t want to annoy Prince Philip who was seated behind them. The Duke of Edinburgh has reportedly not forgiven Ferguson yet for her toe gate scandal when she was still married to the Duke of York.
