  • Sarah Jessica Parker talks about "Hocus Pocus 2"
  • Adam Shankman will be directing the "Hocus Pocus" sequel
  • "Hocus Pocus 2" is moving forward to stream on Disney+

Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy are willing to reprise their roles for “Hocus Pocus 2.”

On Thursday (May 28), Parker appeared on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy” show. Andy Cohen’s pal, Bruce Bozzi, filled in for him as host. Since Bozzi and Parker are close friends, he asked her about the “Hocus Pocus” sequel.

“Do you think there would be a sequel to Hocus Pocus? Because it seems to be on peoples’ radar,” Bozzi said.

Parker gave a positive response to the “Hocus Pocus 2” inquiry. She also confirmed that all three of them — her, Midler and Najimy — are willing to return for the sequel.

“I think that it’s something that, um, Bette and Kathy and I are all all very hospitable to the idea,” she said.

“And I think for a long time people were talking about it as…if it had been, people were moving forward with it in a real way, but we were unaware of it. But I think now we’ve gotten to the point where we’ve all, we’ve agreed publicly to the right people, ‘Yes, that would be a very very fun idea.’ So we’ll see. We’ll see what the future holds.”

In March, Variety confirmed that “Hocus Pocus 2” is happening with Adam Shankman directing the project. The script is written by “Workaholics” writer and co-producer Jen D’Angelo. Lynn Harris will produce the film, too.

Shankman was still doing pre-production work for Disney’s “Enchanted” sequel when “Hocus Pocus 2” was announced. It’s still unknown which film he will work on first.

“Hocus Pocus” followed the story of three witch sisters who have been cursed in Salem in 1693. They were inadvertently resurrected by a boy whose family moved from Los Angeles to Salem. They tried to adjust to the 20th Century and were horrified to find out that what was supposed to be Halloween turned out to be a holiday.

According to Screen Rant, “Hocus Pocus 2” is moving forward to stream on Disney+. Disney is willing to spend to fast track “Hocus Pocus 2” but due to the pandemic fans might wait until 2021 for its debut.
