  • Sasha Banks and Naomi have reportedly been removed from the WWE rosters
  • The pair have also removed mentions of being a WWE Superstar on social media
  • Banks and Naomi first walked out on the May 16 episode of WWE Raw

Pro wrestling fans are out searching for any update regarding the truth behind the status of former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi.

A sense of clarity has been brought upon the situation via PW Insider’s Mike Johnson.

“While there has been no official indication they have been released, PWInsider.com can confirm that both Sasha Banks and Naomi were removed from WWE's Internal roster over the last 24 hours,” he initially wrote.

“We have heard rumblings Banks may be doing some signings outside of WWE this Fall as well, but again, no official confirmation.”

Sai Mohan of Wrestling Inc. further drove home this idea when they realized that both Banks and Naomi have removed “WWE Superstar” from their Instagram pages, replacing it with “Professional Wrestler” instead.

Banks and Naomi’s troubles with WWE began in mid-May after they walked out on the May 16 episode of Raw because they took issue with how the tag team titles were being treated.

At the time, it was confirmed that Naomi was going to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, a decision that the pair did not agree with since it took attention away from their tag team belts.

Their denial of the booking also led to Banks’ canceled angle with then-SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.

Shortly after, reports came out that the locker room was split down the middle in terms of their reactions to the Banks and Naomi walkout.

The general feeling amongst most performers then was that it was okay to walk out, but walking out during the show or a few hours ahead of the show was not something they should have done.

News about the pair would slow down to a crawl until Wrestling Inc owner Raj Giri reported that Banks had been quietly released from the company, but still had her WWE profile up on the website because the promotion was hoping to smooth things out with her.

As more facts about the matter come out in the coming days, more and more pro wrestling fans will be glued to the dirt sheets to get their updates.
