Selena Gomez took to social media to call out Paramount+ show “The Good Fight’. The show's latest episode poked fun at the singer’s kidney transplant back in 2017 due to her battle with lupus.

The offensive scene showed a comedy streaming executive played by Wayne Brady asking Liz played by Audra McDonald to conduct a sensitivity read on one of his comedians. This leads to a conversation between three characters from the show on comedy and cancel culture. One of the characters named Jay wonders if any topics are off-limits.

"Um, necrophilia?" Jim replies.

"No, that could be funny," Marissa responds.

"Autism," Jay says.

"Selena Gomez's kidney transplant," Jim states.

After this scene was aired, the pop star’s fans were quick to react and began trending #RespectSelenaGomez on Twitter.

One fan wrote "So we're usin Selena's kidney transplant as a trend? Multiple times has this happened in media, it needs to stop. #RespectSelenaGomez."

Another fan tweeted “we love you selena . we are so angry u have to even experience this we love you . RESPECT SELENA GOMEZ”

Some fans were ‘disgusted’ by such jokes, one of them wrote “it’s absolutely disgusting that this thought would even cross someone’s mind ever let alone to say on television. we love you!! you are a survivor and advocate and warrior and so amazing!!

Following such outpour of love and support from her fans, the ‘Rare Beauty' founder took to Twitter and Instagram to express her displeasure over the joke, and once again she has ‘Killed It With Kindness”

"I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently. I hope in the next writer's room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it's called out immediately and doesn't make it on air." The pop star wrote

The 29-year-old singer later thanked her fans, after they fiercely defended her from “The Good Fight” joke and trended #RespectSelenaGomez on Twitter.

"My fans always have my back. LOVE YOU," she concluded.

Well, this is not the first time a show has tried to create few laughs over Gomez’s kidney transplant. Last November, the “Saved By The Bell” reboot received serious backlash for scenes showing students gossiping over the transplant and a graffiti that read "Does Selena Gomez Even Have A Kidney."
