Manny Pacquiao’s former rival, “Sugar” Shane Mosley, has claimed that a young boxer who has the power of Juan Manuel Marquez could match the Filipino legend well.

After more than 15 years in boxing, Manny Pacquiao is not done yet. Except from Floyd Mayweather Jr., most of his recent fights were against much younger fighters. And to everybody’s surprise, “Pacman” managed to win most of them as well.

To this day, Pacquiao is still the champion to beat. His name has always been mentioned by younger champions including Mikey Garcia and Errol Spence.

Now that Pacquiao is reportedly set to get back ins the ring in January next year, almost everybody in the welterweight division wants to get a shot at the eight-division title holder. In fact, even Pacquiao has also been viewed as a great match for as well for fighters in other divisions.

In a recent interview with Elie Seckbach of EsNews, Pacquiao’s past opponent Mosley is open to the possibility of Pacquiao fighting a talented boxer from the light welterweight division.

According to Mosley, Ivan Redkach, a light welterweight boxing sensation has the guts to face a legendary fighter like Pacquiao.

“It could be good,” Mosley commented about the idea of Pacquiao vs. Reckach.

Mosley even defended his comment and said that Redkach has great power in his hands. Based on Mosley’s assessment, Redkach has the power of another Pacquiao’s former foe, Marquez, one of the only few fighters to ever knock Pacquiao out.

“Because Ivan’s a warrior and he’s ready to fight anybody. He has hard punch. I mean like, JuanMa Marquez,” Mosley said.

When Mosley was asked to validate his comparison, the former welterweight champion responded by insisting that Redkach maybe even has “more” power than Marquez.

“More! He has good power! Really good power,” Mosley noted.

Mosley has had a good reputation in making predictions in Pacquiao’s recent fights. Prior to Pacquiao vs. Thurman fight, Mosley predicted that Pacquiao’s punches will come in “bunches,” which turned out to be true.

Meanwhile, Marquez also had an idea of a great fight for Pacquiao. Shortly after Pacquiao defeated Thurman, Marquez shared his thoughts about Pacquiao’s next possible opponent.

According to the Mexican boxing legend, Errol Spence is a difficult opponent for Pacquiao but he could match well with Spence’s upcoming opponent Shawn Porter.

“Errol Spence is the best fighter in the welterweight division. And I think it’s no good idea for Pacquiao. Errol Spence (is a) difficult fight for Pacquiao. Shawn Porter, maybe he’s good opponent for Pacquiao,” Marquez said.
