In August, "Shark Tank" judge Kevin O'Leary and his wife, Linda O'Leary, were involved in a fatal boat crash in Ontario, Canada. Ultimately, two people lost their lives from the incident on Lake Joseph, as one died at the scene and one later passed. Additionally, three other passengers were injured. Now, Linda has been charged with "careless operation of a vessel" regarding her involvement in the accident.

According to CNN, Ontario Provincial Police Staff Sgt. Carolle Dionne stated that the maximum penalty for such a crime is 18 months in prison or a fine of $1 million. In addition, police also charged the driver of the other boat for "failing to exhibit a navigation light while underway."

"It's our position that Mrs. O'Leary, who is a cautious and experienced boater came into contact with a boat that simply couldn't be seen," Linda's attorney, Brian Greenspan, told CNN. He then added that the other vessel was operating without lights on a dark and moonless night.

Shortly after news of the event initially broke, Kevin, who goes by the nickname "Mr. Wonderful," issued a statement about what had transpired.

"Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident. I am fully cooperating with authorities," he stated, according to TMZ.

At the time of the accident, Linda reportedly was given a DUI test, which she passed. She is expected to appear in court on Oct. 29, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
