"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" is officially getting a sequel. In response to the news, lead actor Simu Liu took the opportunity to slam critics.

"Flopped so hard we got a sequel!!" Liu wrote on Twitter on Monday as he shared a Variety report, saying the second installment of the Marvel movie is currently in the works and director Destin Daniel Cretton is all set to return.

Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo in "Eternals," took to the comments section and noted, "Yes. Oh yes. Oh. Oh yes.

Since Nanjiani's comment, many fans have wondered if there will be a crossover between Shang-Chi and Kingo.

"Kingo and Shang Chi cross over?" one of them asked.

Many fans also responded to the tweet by saying that "Shang-Chi" is one of the best Marvel movies ever.

One of them wrote, "I think Shang-Chi genuinely ranks in my top 5 for Marvel movies. Well paced, visually spectacular, and surprising emotional depth. Not to mention they somehow made something without a face the cutest thing I have ever seen."

Another fan commented, "Just for reference, Shang-Chi is currently the highest grossing film in America and 8th highest grossing film internationally for 2021 and it didn't get a release in China which is one of the largest international markets. All of this, of course, in the midst of a pandemic."

"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" was released in September. At that time, many netizens pointed out that the movie's box office collection was less compared to other Marvel releases before the pandemic.

It can be recalled that when Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirmed that the movie will be exclusively released in theaters, calling it an "interesting experiment," Liu also took to social media to call out the executive.

"We are not an experiment," Liu wrote on Twitter ahead of the movie's release. "We are the underdog; the underestimated. We are the ceiling-breakers. We are the celebration of culture and joy that will persevere after an embattled year. We are the surprise."

The actor will be next seen in "One True Loves" and the movie is slated for release next year. Liu is currently filming "Arthur the King," which is also expected to come out in 2022.
