  • Spiranac thinks it's "insane" that people want to see the fight
  • Mayweather vs. Paul has received mixed reactions from professional athletes

Pro golfer and social media star Paige Spiranac is not too thrilled about how people are looking forward to seeing Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul's fight.

After a short stint in professional golf, Spiranac found greater success in social media. The 27-year-old also hosts her own podcast called “Playing A Round With Paige Renee,” where she shares her views about everything, including sports.

In one of the recent episodes, Spiranac weighed in on the upcoming Mayweather vs. Paul exhibition match. For the influencer, the fact that such a bizarre idea actually came to fruition just goes to show what fame can do to people these days.

"It’s a money grab, there is going to be so much money thrown for that fight,” Spiranac predicted. "It’s insane that people actually want to see this happening. It’s insane to see someone with a YouTube following or social following can make this happen.”

"It just shows how powerful that young demographic that everyone is reaching out to get now and the fact that people are talking about this is mind blowing to me," she added.

Meanwhile, Mayweather and Paul engaged in a war of words on social media prior to the undefeated boxing champ’s official announcement of the fight.

However, Paul has recently taken his trolling of Mayweather to another level. The YouTube sensation posted a photoshopped image of him standing in front of the shorter Mayweather, highlighting his height advantage over the boxing legend.

Paul accompanied the photo on Instagram with a caption, "50 and oh my god he’s small."

Shortly after the Mayweather vs. Paul exhibition match was confirmed, the pair received mixed reactions from professional fighters and other athletes.

American football player Giavanni Ruffin took his thoughts about the fight to Twitter, saying that the entire idea was “a joke.”

"It’s a joke and a disrespect to the craft of people that really put they all into the sport of boxing this is all a money ploy I get it, get to bag but don’t tarnish ya legacy with this scrub,” Ruffin tweeted.

Multi-division boxing champ Claressa Shields, on the other hand, proposed an interesting two-fight idea to his fellow undefeated boxer. According to Shields, Mayweather can thump Logan, while she takes on the younger Jake Paul.

“Alright @FloydMayweather you whoop on @LoganPaul & I’ll beat up his little brother @jakepaul for the CULTURE! How about it,” Shields wrote.
