A woman in China who went to Changsha Central Hospital was in for a surprise when she sought help for an itch in her left ear. Doctors removed a spider from her ear canal that had been living inside her for five days.

Doctors used a saline solution to flush the spider out of her ear in order to prevent it from burrowing deeper inside the ear canal or biting her, according to Yahoo News. This procedure was successful, and the woman was said to have burst out into tears of gratitude after Dr. Liu Sheng told her the good news.

The spider may have crawled in while she slept in her home during renovations, a report from the Huffington Post indicates. Photos have surfaced of the spider lodged in the woman's ear canal that show the creature's eyes and front legs.

But spiders aren't the only strange objects found inside the human body. Check out these bizarre objects that have been found in X-ray images. Here's a list of five unbelievable images discovered from X-rays.

1. An iPod. "Cassette tapes are probably not common at all these days," forensic psychiatrist Marty A. Sindhian said with a laugh to HuffPost Weird News when discussing his book "Stuck Up." "I don't expect to see any more of those in X-rays. But someone did get an iPod stuck inside them; so I think that shows that the choice of objects that are inserted reflects the larger culture."

2. A Rusty Knife. Li Fuyan had lived with a rusty 4-inch knife blade lodged in his head for four years without even knowing, according to Vyperlook.com. The man was engaged in a fight with a robber who had stabbed him, and the blade amazingly missed his throat. Four years later, during a routine check, doctors discovered the object in his head and rushed him into the operating room. After the knife was removed, Li only complained of occasional throat bleeding and trouble swallowing.

3. More Than 300 Coins. Doctors in a French hospital found more than 350 coins and an assortment of necklaces and needles in a man's stomach, according to Vyperlook. The X-ray image, which dates to 2004, shows a large glowing pile in the patient's stomach, as well as strings that are believed to be the necklace.

4. A Lego. Six-year-old Isaak Lasson had a piece of Lego stuck up his nose for three years, The New York Daily News reported. "I felt so bad," the boy's father Craig Lasson said to the Daily News. "He was sleeping with his mouth open, trying to breathe. You ask yourself, 'Am I a bad parent because I didn't catch it sooner?' But the doctors just kept prescribing antibiotics. We just didn't know.

5.A Potato. A vicar arrived at a hospital with a potato stuck in his backside, saying that the vegetable got stuck there after he had fallen onto the vegetable while hanging curtains naked. The Telegraph reported that he had to have surgery to have it removed.
