There may be a new planet that will be introduced in “Star Wars: Episode 9.” Leaked pictures from the production set suggest that one of the planets being featured in the upcoming film will be covered with snow, and this is not one of the planets from the previous movies.

The following article contains spoilers from “Star Wars: Episode 9.”

According to Star Wars News Net, newly leaked pictures from the production set of the upcoming film reveal a snowy, deciduous planet location. Fans of the franchise who have seen the previous movies in the new trilogy will remember the Star Killer base has such geographical features, but this is expected to be an entirely new location.

Filming is currently ongoing at Black Park, which is near the Pine Wood studios in the United Kingdom. The leaked pictures show how the production team has created a snowy planet set at this location using fake snow.

What gives us an idea that this is a new planet is the presence of the white, alabaster building at this location that has a very different architecture from the kind of buildings featured at the Star Killer base. The First Order’s massive weapons base was destroyed in “The Force Awakens,” but there is a chance that it will return in a flashback. However, the pictures tease the presence of another snowy planet.

The white, alabaster building is said to be located in the middle of the forest, which is another indication that this is not the Star Killer base. The buildings at the First Order’s super weapon base were located in a clear area.

The filming is apparently taking place here for exterior shots. The interiors may be filmed at Pinewood Studios. None of the cast members were spotted on the set, so there is no indication about who controls this planet and which of the characters will be seen there in the film.

Meanwhile, cast member Richard E. Grant said in a recent interview with Radio Times that he understands why the producers of “Star Wars: Episode 9” are so secretive about it. He teased that there are some “very exciting” things to look forward to in the film.

With the release of the film a little less than a year away, fans are eagerly waiting for the first trailer. Grant, who is also a “Star Wars” fan, said that the film will be worth the wait because he knows what’s coming is “quite something.”

Cast member John Boyega, who plays Finn in “Star Wars: Episode 9,” recently teased a picture from the production set showing two Stormtroopers and their blasters on Instagram. The actor joked in the post that he was keeping his “enemies” close.
