Apart from this, SteamDB recently shared that it has uncovered the mystery cards in the Steam backend, which seemingly confirmed the theme of this year's sale. So far, there is no indication of what those cards would be for.

However, based on how they worked in the previous sales, gamers would most likely use them for spending certain amounts of money during the Summer Sale. These cards could be a quick way for them to earn some incentives for their next purchase on Valve's video game digital distribution service. Some fans believe that these mystery cards back the rumored murder mystery theme of the sale.

Last year, the Steam Summer Sale had the Summer Road Trip theme, and the year before, it had the Grand Prix theme.
