  • McMahon did not offer a timetable on when Rousey could return
  • Rousey's last appearance in WWE was in April for Wrestlemania
  • McMahon touched on Rousey's future after teasing a second Evolution event

Stephanie McMahon confirmed Ronda Rousey will be back at WWE during a phone interview Thursday with GiveMeSport to promote WWE’s move from Sky Sports to BT Sport in England.

Rousey’s future with the company came up following McMahon’s comments about a second Evolution event where Rousey main evented against Nikki Bella. She was asked if she foresaw Rousey “returning anytime soon.”

“Ronda will definitely be back at least that’s the plan – I am not sure of the timing as of when,” McMahon responded.

Rousey’s last appearance for WWE was at Wrestlemania in April where she defended the Raw Women’s Championship against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and challenger Becky Lynch in the show’s main event. WWE heavily promoted that it was the first women's match to main event their biggest show of the year. Lynch won the winner-take-all match.

She left the company after that, saying she wanted to take time away to start a family with her husband, former UFC heavyweight fighter Travis Browne. This led to conflicting reports on her future with WWE, with which she reportedly inked a multiyear deal with when she signed in 2018.

Rousey offered some clarity on her future in an interview with People Magazine from November.

“Right now, I think my family needs my undivided attention. I’m happy to give them that,” Rousey said. “But I’m trying to figure out a way or a system or somehow that I could give both my family and WWE the best of me and not be half ass in both.”
