  • Austin ventured into acting and hosting reality TV shows and his own podcast following his retirement

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin has had an awe-inspiring career in multiple industries, and with that level of success, having a massive net worth is no surprise.

The net worth of the retired WWE legend, occasional actor, TV and podcast host and entrepreneur is estimated to be around $30 million today, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The 57-year-old's wealth is expected to increase in the near future as he has listed one of his two houses in the upscale Marina Del Rey community in Los Angeles for $3.6 million, according to Dirt.com.

Born Steven James Anderson, he joined WWE in 1995. His real rise to stardom began at the 1996 King of the Ring tournament, which he won by defeating Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

Between 1995 and 1999, Austin won four federation championships as well as numerous other tag team and individual titles.

His wrestling career was cut short because of injuries. He was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2003 after he wrestled against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at WrestleMania XIX, Essentially Sports noted.

After retiring from wrestling, Austin ventured into acting. Since 2005, he has starred in several movies, including “Tactical Force,” “Maximum Conviction,” “Knockout,” “The Package,” “The Longest Yard” and “The Expendables.”

In addition to being an actor, the wrestling legend is also a successful reality television host.

Austin hosted the CMT show “Redneck Island” from 2012 to 2016, and his own competition show “Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge” on CMT from 2014 to 2017. He also serves as host of “Straight Up Steve Austin,” which premiered in August 2019.

In March 2021, Austin told Pop Culture that it is unlikely that he will appear on the big screen anytime soon.

While he doesn't mind taking on “a small role” every now and then, he said he prefers reality shows and does not find acting in films pleasurable because he cannot be himself and does not want to do it just for money.

“For me, being on a set in a trailer, going through the motions over and over and over again, reading dialogue, it doesn't appeal to me,” Austin explained. “With 'Broken Skull Sessions,' I do tons of research, so does my team, but that's just talking back and forth with someone. With everything that I do, like ['Straight Up Steve Austin'] I gotta do my prep work, but I'm not trying to be anybody other than me.”

Austin, who hasn't appeared in a film since 2015, shared that he “used acting as a means to an end” after retiring from wrestling but later found out that he preferred “hosting and being [himself].”

Austin also currently hosts an eponymous podcast called "The Steve Austin Show” and sells branded merch on his Broken Skull Ranch website, including an IPA beer and a line of pocket knives.

While he's listed one of his Marina Del Rey properties, he still owns a home in the area with three bedrooms and one bathroom. He purchased the property in early 2017 for $1.49 million.

Austin also owns Broken Skull Ranch 2.0, a forty-acre semi-remote spread about 30 minutes from South Lake Tahoe, California. He acquired the property for $2.9 million in late 2017, Dirt.com reported, citing tax records.
