Manny Pacquiao has found another backer that wishes to see the Filipino icon square off against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a rematch. Earlier this week, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard said that fans of the sport would still flock to watch both aging fighters slug it out the ring.

The Hall-of-Famer said that "It'd be a great fight... people will watch it." Leonard a Welterweight, Middleweight and Lightweight champ believes that the rematch would be different compared to their first encounter.

In 2015, Pacquiao lost to Mayweather in a unanimous decision victory. Days after the fight, the fighting pride of the Philippines admitted that he had previously injured his shoulder before the big bout. Since then, doubters have been clamoring for a rematch.

Leonard shared that a person's perspective on things changes when you're in your forties. He said that when he was 40, he didn't care who the guy was, but you "have a different state in your life, spiritually, physically, mentally."

He added that a rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. would "help boxing, in a crazy way." The boxing legend also praised Manny, saying that the WBA 'super' welterweight champ looked great in his most recent match against Keith Thurman.

He enthusiastically said that "Manny looked phenomenal in his last fight." Despite all the clamor for Pacquiao-Mayweather 2, Sean Gibbons, one of Pacman's most trusted advisors, said that "Floyd is enjoying his retirement."

The President of MP productions shared that a fight between the two future Hall-of-Famers is off the books as of the moment. Pacquiao's camp has bared that the Filipino champ could fight Mickey Garcia, Danny Garcia, or Shawn Porter in 2020.

Last week, Keith Thurman said that he opposes MayPac 2 because he believes "at the end of the day, no one wants to see it." He added that both fighter's camps would only talk "about how much money they can make, how big the fight is."
