With most of the NFL’s top free agents off the market, a few teams have seen noticeable changes in their Super Bowl odds. The defending champions are given an even better chance to repeat, and a team that missed the playoffs completely is viewed as a potential contender.

The day after winning Super Bowl LV, Tampa Bay was given 9/1 odds to win next year’s title. The Bucs’ odds of winning the 2022 Super Bowl have since increased to 6/1, according to BetOnline, putting them right behind the favorite Kansas City Chiefs, who lead the way with 5/1 odds.

Tom Brady is returning to Tampa Bay, along with the team’s top free agents. Rob Gronkowski, Shaq Barrett and Leonard Fournette have all signed new deals with the Bucs. Chris Godwin avoided free agency when Tampa Bay used the franchise tag on the receiver.

Of all the teams that are given a realistic chance to win next season’s Super Bowl, the Arizona Cardinals saw the biggest jump in championship odds. Arizona’s odds went from 40/1 to 28/1 following the addition of multiple former Pro Bowlers.

Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt signed with the Cardinals after being released by the Houston Texans. Receiver A.J. Green left the Cincinnati Bengals for Arizona. The veterans have made the Pro Bowl a combined 12 times, though injuries and age have limited their effectiveness in recent seasons.

Arizona’s Super Bowl hopes might ultimately rest on the development of Kyler Murray. The No.1 overall pick in the 2019 draft threw for 3,971 yards and added 819 more yards on the ground in his second NFL season. Murray and the Cardinals missed the playoffs with an 8-8 record.

The Indianapolis Colts’ odds have improved from 28/1 in February to 20/1 at the end of March. Carson Wentz will replace Philip Rivers as the team’s starting quarterback. Indianapolis hopes Wentz can replicate the MVP-caliber season he put together in 2017 when current Colts head coach Frank Reich was Wentz’s offensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams are still tied for third with 12/1 Super Bowl odds.
