KEY POINTS

  • The last DLC character coming to "Super Smash Bro. Ultimate" has not been revealed
  • Nintendo is scheduled to have a special live-stream event on October
  • The final DLC character will be announced at the event

Nintendo has confirmed that "Super Smash Bro. Ultimate's" tightly guarded secret, the identity of the last DLC character, will be announced in a special presentation featuring game creator Masahiro Sakurai on Oct. 5. Ahead of the official announcement, a new leak surfaced online, revealing clues as to who the final DLC character might be.

The information about the final DLC character of "Super Smash Bro. Ultimate" came from an anonymous user on 4Chan. Last July, the user claimed in a thread that they work for Disney and mentioned that Nintendo has requested a number of tracks for "Kingdom Hearts."

These tracks, reportedly, would be used in a digital event scheduled for Oct. 5. Furthermore, the user suggested that Sora could be the final DLC fighter coming to "Super Smash Bro. Ultimate."

"I work for Disney music, [and] Nintendo called last week to request rights to several tracks from Kingdom Hearts to use in a 'digital event' on Oct. 5," the anonymous user said on 4Chan in July. Interestingly, Nintendo announced that a presentation dedicated to the game is scheduled to take place on the same date.

The Japanese gaming juggernaut also said it would reveal the game's final DLC character at that said event. The anonymous user shared the details about the October event in July, which was two months earlier than Nintendo's announcement.

The timeline does not only raise eyebrows but also gives more credibility to the claim. Gamers know that while video game leaks from 4Chan can be easily dismissed, the site has been a source for genuine leaks, including details about Nintendo and its games.

It may be recalled that a few weeks ago, an industry insider who goes by the name Samus Hunter said the final DLC character would come from a third-party title. "Kingdom Hearts" has long been associated with Nintendo, but the game originated in PlayStation.

It is worth noting that Nintendo has not yet revealed the identity of the final DLC character. In this case, fans should temper their expectations and take the latest leak as speculative.

For fans who want to see the special Sakurai Presents live stream, they can check it out on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m., EDT.
