Afghanistan’s private television channel TOLO television on Monday reported that Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has been killed in Pakistan.

“We could not confirm the media report that Mullah Omar died,” a senior Pakistani security official told Reuters.

TOLO television reported that Mullah was killed while he was on his way from Quetta to North Waziristan. However, the television did not provide any details on how and by whom Omar killed.

Taliban officials have not commented on the news yet.

If Taliban leader Omar’s killing report came to be true then this would be the second blow to the Taliban after Osama bin Laden's killing early this month.
