Taylor Swift has engraved her name into the history books after achieving another milestone in her career. After spending a week at no. 4 on the Billboard 200, Swift’s latest album, “Folklore,” claimed the top rank once again and surpassed Whitney Houston’s longstanding record for the most cumulative weeks at no. 1 on the chart.

Swift has now spent 47 weeks at no. 1 across all her chart-topping albums, Billboard reported. The “Cardigan” hitmaker beat Houston, who had a total of 46 weeks at the top of Billboard 200. Adele claims the third spot with 34 weeks at the top spot among female artists.

According to Nielsen’s Music/MRC Data, “Folklore” has earned 87,000 units in the U.S. as of Sept. 24.

The Beatles still holds the record for the most number of weeks at the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The group spent 132 weeks at the top of the chart with 19 albums, which is a record.

A few weeks earlier, “Folklore” also became the leading album of 2020 in terms of rankings. The “Bad Blood” hitmaker’s newest offering surpassed Lil Baby’s “My Turn” for the most weeks at no. 1 this year.

Last month, the Grammy-winning artist shared how trusting her imagination and songwriting helped her during isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve,” Swift wrote on Twitter.

The album has turned out to be a massive success for Swift and received universal acclaim from critics as well as fans. “Folklore” has a critic rating of 88 on Metacritic and a 9.5 user rating on the site.

Other artists to get featured on the Billboard 200 chart include Pop Smoke, Juice WRLD, Alicia Keys and Keith Urban.
