  • A man was arrested Saturday after trying to break into one of Taylor Swift’s Tribeca apartments
  • The man was found to be involved in a prior incident that led to his arrest in 2019
  • The new incident happened amid the singer’s latest success on the Billboard 200 chart

A man was caught trying to gain entry into Taylor Swift’s Tribeca apartment Saturday night just as the singer achieved another major Billboard milestone.

The man, who has since been identified as 52-year-old Hanks Johnson, was quickly arrested by the New York Police Department after the authorities were alerted of his attempt to break into Swift’s home at 155 Franklin St. at around 11 p.m., Page Six has learned.

According to the cops, the suspect tried to trespass on the property when the front door of the building was opened. It was found out after Johnson’s arrest that he was involved in a prior incident that led to his arrest in October 2019. He was expected to show up in court on April 6 but missed it.

Swift is the proud owner of three apartment units in the 10-unit building. She purchased all of them in 2018, and she also spent $17 million on a townhouse at a nearby building, at 153 Franklin St.

The arrest of the intruder comes in the wake of Swift’s latest achievement which saw her re-recorded “Fearless” album snagging the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The feat is noteworthy since the original release, which served as her second studio album, also landed no. 1 on the same chart back in 2008.

The re-recorded album is now her ninth record to make it to the top of the chart after it managed to score the biggest debut week for any album in 2021 by selling 291,000 equivalent units in the week ending April 15, the official data for the chart revealed.

Billboard also lauded Swift on its website for being the first female artist to have three no. 1 albums in less than a year. It is also the only re-recording of a previously released album to climb to the top of the Billboard 200.

The re-recorded album features 26 tracks. It has all of the 13 tracks from the original album and six of the bonus songs that made it to the Platinum Edition of the “Fearless” album released in 2009. It also contains a re-recording of the 2010 single “Today Was A Fairytale” as well as six of the newly recorded tracks that were written for the original album but were scrapped until recently.

Meanwhile, one of the tracks on the re-recorded album entitled “Mr. Perfectly Fine” has caught the attention of many fans online as it is seemingly directed at her ex-boyfriend, Joe Jonas. The Jonas brother has yet to comment on the issue.
