A Wisconsin teacher was charged with sexual misconduct for having sex with a 15-year-old student and indulging in sexual talks with him over Snapchat.

According to a copy of a criminal complaint released Friday, the investigation against 23-year-old Talia Jo Warner, a Somerset High School health teacher, began in January this year after a teacher and some students alerted the Somerset School District officials about it.

Investigation revealed that between October and December 2018, a 15-year-old sophomore received pictures and videos from the teacher, one of which was a video of her performing a sex act on herself. The two indulged in two sexual encounters outside of school. While one was in her car, the other was at her home.

Though the student initially denied the allegation, he later told police the accused picked him up post a sporting event and took him to her home where they had sex in her bedroom. Officials also found Snapchat messages exchanged between the two which included “sexual talk and behavior.” The messages were exchanged for over a month and they also spoke about sending nude pictures.

The school district said following the allegations, the accused was removed in February.

“When the District first learned of the potential allegations, Ms. Warner was removed from the classroom and the District undertook a full investigation and has cooperated with law enforcement through this process. District staff appreciate the support of the community during this difficult time, and also want to thank the community for respecting the privacy of the alleged victim,” the school district said in a press release.

Meanwhile, Warner was charged with seven felonies Aug.29, which includes second-degree sexual assault of a child, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and child enticement. Further investigation was ongoing.
