A 17-year-old boy in India who intervened in a fight between his teacher and two brothers was stabbed several times Monday, according to police.

The accused, identified as 25-year-old local resident Shishpal, was arrested, along with his younger brother, a minor, in connection to the incident that occurred outside a tutoring center in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar, the Times of India reported.

According to police, the two suspects allegedly often used to target and abuse passersby outside the tuition center run by AD Mahesh for grade school to high school students.

As the student fell unconscious, bleeding profusely, the brothers fled to their house," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

The injured student is reportedly undergoing treatment.
