A 19-year-old boy from Aurora, Colorado, has been charged with killing his stepfather by stabbing him with a knife.

The suspect identified as Nickolas Khalil Vinson also recorded his stepfathers last moments and uploaded the video on Snapchat, court records indicate, Denver Post reported.

The report states that Vinson can be heard saying, “Hey guys I just killed him. I just killed him. I just killed him,” in the video.

A man can also be seen, face down, covered in blood and a woman screaming beside him saying, “Lemar, can you hear me? Can you hear me? No!” after which the video again pans to the person recording it.

The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Oscar Lemar Owensby.

Denver Post reports that after recording the video Vinson shared the video with his friends on Snapchat after which Aurora police charged him with first-degree murder for stabbing his stepfather on Dec. 15 at 2700 block of South Rifle Street.

Owensby was the husband of Celena Vinson, the biological mother of Nick and his 15-year-old brother Kyle. Vinson and the Owensby had been living together for 14 years.

According to the arrest warrant, Vinson called his brother Friday night and confessed to killing their stepdad. Speaking of the reason behind the harsh step, he told him that he stabbed Owensby because he “wanted to throw him out of the house,” Daily Mail reported.

Celena called the authorities after she witnessed the entire incident. Authorities said that Vinson readily admitted to killing Owensby and added that after killing him he fled from his mother’s home in her Ford Explorer.

He said that he ran away so that he could bid goodbye to his friends and tell them he was going away for a long time.

The report in Denver Post states that Vinson was covered in blood when police found him in the getaway car within Aurora. He had a large cut on his left hand and that when he opened the door of the car, investigative officers could see the blood dripping from him to the ground.

When the authorities searched the place they also found blood spatters on the walls of the teenager’s bedroom and a trail of bloody footprints which ended up in the garage.

After the horrifying incident, Vinson is being held at the county jail and has been denied bond. Neither Vinson’s mother nor his brother has made any comments about the murder publicly.

Aurora, where the recent incident took place, was in the news in July 2012 when a gunman identified as James Holmes killed 12 movie-goers during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises. Holmes after trial, in August 2014 was sentenced to 12 life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole and an additional 3,318 years for attempted murder and explosives possession charges.
