Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth were spotted in Sydney on Sunday to film the highly anticipated superhero flick "Thor: Love and Thunder," a report says.

Photos published by the Daily Mail reportedly show Damon and Hemsworth arriving at the New South Wales capital via a shared private jet. They flew from Byron Bay and will stay in Sydney for a week to film scenes for the upcoming Marvel movie, the report said.

In the images, Damon sported a gray T-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap, while his wife, Luciana Barroso, opted for white trousers and a black singlet. Hemsworth, on the other hand, was seen in a yellow singlet and black shorts while stepping out of the jet.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" production kicked off on Jan. 26 at Fox Studios, but it seems like Damon has flown to Sydney to shoot scenes for the film for the first time.

While Damon is in work mode, his and his wife's children, Isabella, 14, Gia, 12, and Stella, 10, appear to have stayed behind in the Byron Bay mansion they have been living in while in Australia.

The actor and his family arrived in the country in mid-January and moved into the Airbnb mansion, where they completed 14 days of mandatory quarantine.

Damon's casting comes three years after he made a cameo appearance in "Thor: Ragnarok" as an Asgardian actor in a play. It's unclear whether he will return as the Asgardian character or will take up another role in the upcoming film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Last month, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed his casting in the movie. “Hollywood superstar Matt Damon joining our homegrown talent to film such a major movie in NSW is a big win creating thousands of jobs for locals,” he said, Deadline reported.

At the time, the actor confirmed that he will be staying in Australia for “the next few months.”

“Australian film crews are world renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it,” he was quouted in local media as saying.

Aside from Hemsworth and Damon, the fourth film in the "Thor" franchise also stars Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) and Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher).

"Thor: Love and Thunder" was announced at Comic-Con 2019. In July 2019, Hemsworth posted photos from the event on Instagram.

"Always one of, if not the best events of the year @comic_con unrivalled enthusiasm from the folks that make all a reality, the fans !!!" he captioned the photos that featured the star along with Portman, Thompson and director Taika Waititi. "So excited to announce #thorloveandthunder. can’t wait to get crackin on this one, gonna be one hell of a ride."
