Tia Mowry On Her 'Hard Journey' Amid Divorce With Husband Cory Hardrict: 'Not Easy'

Tia Mowry filed for divorce from her actor husband Cory Hardrict last month after 14 years of marriage and now, she has opened up about the "hard journey."

"It's not easy. It's a hard journey. But at the end of the day, I feel like it is so, so worth it," Mowry said during the "Today with Hoda and Jenna" talk show Wednesday.

She went on to explain the importance of focusing on her own happiness than everybody else's, including children, friends and family.

"I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else's happiness," she explained. "Making sure that everybody else is okay, meaning our children, our friends, our family. But at the end of the day, it's about self-love."

Mowry shared that when women start to work on themselves, love themselves, and know their value, that's when all of sudden, there's an "awakening."

The 44-year-old actress shared a black and white photo on Instagram on Oct. 5 to announce the decision and disclose that she and Hardrict are going to remain friends to co-parent their kids. The two got married in 2008 and share two kids together - Cairo Tiahna, 4 and Cree, 11.

On the work front, Mowry has been a regular on the TV series "Family Reunion" since 2019. She has been portraying Cocoa McKellan's character on the show. Aside from the popular show, she also appeared in a TV movie, "Miracle in Motor City," as Amber Dupont in 2021.

The actress also featured in a TV series, "Game On! A Comedy Crossover Event," where she played Cocoa's character. Hardrict, on the other hand, was last seen in a TV series, "All American: Homecoming" as Coach Marcus Turner.

He will be next seen in a crime mystery, "The Dougherty Gang," which is helmed by director Sean McEwen. The actor will also appear in a drama flick, "Die Like A Man," which is helmed and penned by Eric Nazarian. The movie is currently under post-production and it will also star Frankie Loyal, Mariel Molino and Cesar Garcia.

He is currently filming "Young. Wild. Free" where he will be playing Desmond.
