Tim Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh got candid about their married life and how they celebrated their first wedding anniversary together.

The former NFL star and Miss Universe 2017 spoke with Entertainment Tonight and discussed their marriage and first wedding anniversary. They tied the knot in a sunset setting in South Africa on Jan. 20, 2020. They also shared their plans about having kids in the future.

Demi-Leigh received twelve roses and one peony from her husband the night before their wedding anniversary. Tebow told her the roses represented each month they have been married and the peony represented her. The beauty queen was delighted with her husband's gesture saying she "felt so loved." But his surprise didn't stop there.

"The next morning, when I woke up and came downstairs to make a cup of coffee, there was a bunch of 365 roses," she told ET. "They represented each day of marriage -- the good ones, the great ones, the trial ones, the unexpected days, just all of them. I think it's really special to be able celebrate all of that in marriage."

Demi-Leigh shared a snap of her sitting on a table with the bunch of roses behind her on Instagram. In the caption, she said the roses represented the "figuring-it-out, selfish, selfless, moody, miraculous, misunderstood, fun, beautiful, crazy busy, calm, harder and perfect days." She also thanked Tebow for his "intentionality to mark each day with purpose and to celebrate all of 'us.'"

The couple was not able to travel to mark their first wedding anniversary due to COVID-19 restrictions. But they took a break to celebrate the occasion on the beach.

"She loves the beach, because it reminds her of home. So that was special, to be able to have a little bit of time to work that in ... to connect and have that celebration with just us," he said.

Demi-Leigh said that they try to continue dating amid the pandemic. They were intentional about their time together. They are also open to having children "at some point" in the future.

"I think it's certainly a heart's desire for both of us. And God willing, we would love to have a family someday, one day," she said.

"Someday. That would be an awesome blessing that we would love," he added.

At present, the couple's hands are full with their three 1-year-old fur babies — Paris the Dalmatian, Kobe the golden retriever, and Chunk the Bernese mountain dog — known as "The Tebow Pack."
