Tiquan Underwood was cut from the New England Patriots roster on Saturday, hours before the 2012 Super Bowl get underway in Indianapolis on Sunday.

Underwood, who sports a buzz-cut of the famous Patriots logo, was to join his teammates for Super Bowl 46, but was said to be replaced by practice-squad defensive end Alex Silvestro, Fox Sports reported.

Reports are that Underwood wasn't replaced because of disciplinary reasons. Rather it was just a football decision by coach Bill Belichick in order to give the Patriots an extra defender for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, according to Fox Sports.

Both Underwood and Silvestro are Rutgers products and it is said to be the third time Underwood was cut by the Patriots this season.
