KEY POINTS

  • "Titanfall 2" is an extremely fast-paced game with plenty of depth
  • Players are recommended to master movement and individual equipment pieces
  • It is best to play with the team and target objectives as much as possible

With a big surge of new players in “Titanfall 2,” many newbies may be finding themselves getting destroyed by the game’s more experienced players. Fights in “Titanfall” play very differently from the likes of “Call Of Duty” or even the game’s spiritual successor, “Apex Legends.”

Moving, shooting, positioning and tactical thinking are all important in games like this, but “Titanfall 2” demands a little bit more from each concept simply due to how the game is designed. Here’s a short collection of tips and tricks to help players improve their performance in “TF2’s” multiplayer modes.

Know Your Loadouts

“Titanfall 2” has a large array of weapons and equipment to play with, from Pilot classes to weapon choices and down to individual perk or mod picks. The same amount of depth goes with the game’s different Titan types. Knowing the nuances of each piece of gear is critical to mastering a certain playstyle.

For example, the ARC Trooper class can fly across the map with their grappling hook, but the hook itself has many tiny details that not many players will know about when they use it for the first time.

Gravity Stars can prevent Pilots from ejecting off of Titans. Firestars can blind Titans if thrown correctly. Apart from these, there are many more little details involving equipment that players can use to great effect. The “Titanfall 2” community at Reddit has a large compendium of individual equipment tips found here.

Learn To Slow Down

Players may be tempted to go as fast as possible all the time, but keep in mind that taking things slow has its benefits, too.

When engaging in a firefight with other players or the enemy team’s grunts, consider avoiding wall-running or aerial maneuvers to make hitting enemies easier. Basic movements can later be translated into advanced maneuvers like air strafing and slidehopping, so it’s best to master simple techniques first.

Stick With The Team

It may be tempting to dive into the action alone, but remember that “Titanfall 2” is still a team game. Friendly pilots can help take down enemy players and even the AI grunts can deal substantial damage or outright kill an enemy.

This trick is especially useful when fighting in a Titan. Have your team focus one enemy Titan at a time to make sure it goes down as fast as possible.
