KEY POINTS

  • There will be 13 episodes in “Titans” Season 3

  • The writers are currently working on the scripts

  • The producers are eager to start filming

The story for “Titans” Season 3 is ready and the writers are currently busy working on the script. Executive producer Akiva Goldsman shared an update about the production of the popular DC superhero series, which hasn’t started filming yet because of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

Goldsman is currently practicing social distancing at his home, but he took some time out to speak to Collider about some of the projects he has been working on. The producer is not allowed to share any details about the plot of “Titans,” such as details about whether or not the fans will get to see Batman, but he did confirm that there will be 13 episodes in Season 3.

Batman was introduced in Season 2, which opened the door for the superhero to play a more significant role in the future. “I am not going to tell you that,” Goldsman said about the possible role of the Dark Knight and about other characters from DC Comics joining the TV series.

Greg Walker is running the writer's room, Goldsman told Collider. Although the writers have developed the stories for the show, they may not have the episodic breakup of everything for “Titans” Season 3. However, the team is currently working hard to get everything ready, and the plan is to get the filming started as soon as possible, according to Goldsman.

The cast members are also unaware as to when the production will start for the TV series. Details about the plot will be shared with all the actors just before the filming begins.

One of the issues that are being discussed about the TV series is a potential spin-off series. Jason Todd actor Curran Walters told Comic Book in a recent interview that he is ready to be a part of a show that is about the comic book character Red Hood. Walters said that it would be “pretty cool” to play this version of his character, but he added that it will be up to the writers to decide in what direction they want to take the show.

“Titans” Season 3 is scheduled to air sometime later in 2020. The producers may announce the release date once the filming starts.
