Over the past few months, life for Tom Brady has been a challenge both on and off the football field. But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has been relying on his "resilience" to get him through those obstacles.

On the Monday episode of the NFL player's "Let's Go!" SiriusXM podcast, the 45-year-old reflected on how the Buccaneers are trying to recover from their rocky season amid his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

"I think our team, you know, there's a lot of outside noise, and I know people [say], 'Tom, you should have retired. You should have done this, you should have done that.' You know, and that's okay," Brady said.

"People can have a lot of feelings or opinions and so forth. But I think, for me, there's always gratification when you make this commitment, and you have a group of individuals that do the same, and you see something pay off."

Brady revealed there's a method to get through constant setbacks.

"That's what life's about. A lot of resilience, overcoming different obstacles over the course of the year, and then ultimately coming together for a common goal. That's why I love team sports," he said. "I always say, do you care about your team and the people on your team? And do you care about the mission? And that's what makes a great teammate to me."

Brady also noted the importance of trying "to compartmentalize things and really focus on what your job is" when going through a difficult time.

Bundchen, 42, and Brady confirmed their split in October following months of speculation.

"We arrived at this decision amicably, and with gratitude, for the time we spent together," Brady said in an Instagram post at the time.

"We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way."

Brady and Bundchen share a daughter, Vivian Lake, 10, and a son, Benjamin Rein, 13. Brady is also a father to son Jack, 15, who he shares with his former partner actor Bridget Moynahan.

Although Brady is focused on his children following his divorce from Bundchen, he intends on someday sharing his love of football with his grandchildren.

"One day. One day when I do have grandkids. Hopefully, that's a long time from now, but, yeah, maybe I'll just actually, maybe I'll face one of 'em at some point in the playoffs," Brady said. "That's possible, too."

The Bucs recently clinched a playoff spot despite an 8-8 season ahead of the final week of the season. Tampa is considered an underdog to reach the Super Bowl.

Brady, who began his NFL career in 2000, has reached the Super Bowl 10 times and has won seven titles. He reached the Pro Bowl in 2022 but was not selected for 2023.
