Forbes magazine has released its latest list of the 10 highest-paid female athletes of 2011.
The magazine estimates earnings for the 12-months ending July 1, 2011, for the ten female sports persons, who got paid though prize money, salaries, appearance fees, licensing income and endorsements, Forbes revealed on its blog on August 1.
According to the magazine’s list, tennis players dominate with seven of the ten spots. “The ten highest paid women made $113 million over the past 12-months, up 1 percent from last year. By comparison the 10 highest-paid men earned a collective $449 million,” Forbes sports editor, Kurt Badenhausen, wrote in the blog.
