  • Harry Kane is set to meet new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo
  • Manchester City is expected to try and close a deal for Kane
  • Manchester United has been secretly making progress in signing the England captain

Harry Kane’s transfer saga might be nearing its end as a series of important events is set to happen in the coming weeks.

This year is no different as Kane remains trophyless after England failed to seal a win over Italy at the Euro 2020.

Still bearing the devastation of the said defeat, the English striker will now face his seemingly complicated situation at Tottenham.

As things stand, the Spurs have yet to secure Kane’s future. However, a progress is looming as new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is set to meet the club’s talisman, famed transfer insider and Eurosport’s Dean Jones reported.

“The situation surrounding [Harry] Kane is likely to lead the headlines as it is expected the England captain will reiterate his desire to leave Tottenham,” Jones wrote. “Discussions are expected before then and Kane will be introduced to new manager Nuno Espirito Santo to understand his vision for the club. ”

Among the wide array of clubs keeping tabs on Kane, Manchester City has become one of the favorites. Reports say that Pep Guardiola’s side is ready to launch a “ £100 million” ($138 million) bid for the striker.

According to Jones, Manchester City’s offer is still on the table and the club is expected to set the record straight “soon.”

“Sources believe Manchester City will soon make it clear that they are serious about an initial £100 million offer [for Kane],” he stated

It can be recalled that Kane himself mentioned the same exact figure as an approximate value Tottenham chief Daniel Levy may have set for his possible transfer.

"I don't know, I mean he [Levy] might want to sell me," Kane said in May. "He might be thinking 'If I could get £100m for you, then why not?' Do you know what I mean? I'm not going to be worth that for the next 2 or 3 years.”

"I hope we have a good enough relationship,” he continued. “I've given the club…well, I've been there 16 years of my life. So, I hope that we can have a good honest conversation and see where we are at in that aspect.”

Tottenham’s stance on the matter hasn’t changed one bit as new Spurs director Fabio Paratici insisted that the “club’s goal” is to keep Kane.

However, an earlier report revealed Manchester United is now finally close to signing Kane following “behind-the-scenes developments.”

The Red Devils have been given huge “hope” by Tottenham “club chiefs” as a deal for Kane is likely to be discussed soon.

Nothing has been publicized yet, but the Spurs have asked for “£100 million ($138 million) plus two first-team stars” as part of a swap deal, the report added.
