  • Jose Mourinho is thrilled to have Kane and Heung-Min Son on his team

Following a series of remarkable performances this season, Tottenham superstar Harry Kane is not resting on his laurels as he assures that he will continue to work hard.

Kane has been consistent with his form since the start of Tottenham’s 2020-21 campaign. In the club’s latest derby win over north London rivals Arsenal, the English striker bagged his eighth league goal of the season, reaching the 250th of his career.

Aside from tallying points for the club, he has also been exceptional in dishing out assists, notching his tenth this season by setting up Son Heung-min for a sensational goal against the Gunners.

Addressing his game after the match, the 27-year-old feels like he has reached the peak of his career this season.

“I’d probably say it’s the best form I’ve been in in my life, the best start to the season for sure,” Kane told reporters in post-game press conference. “But there’s still a long way to go, I’ve had seasons when we’ve been top for a while but it’s a long hard race to be there at the end.”

Last season, Tottenham missed out on the UEFA Champions League. But now, the Spurs presents a strong case to win the English Premier League title this year after decisive wins over Arsenal and Manchester City.

However, Kane remains focused and tends to not be too comfortable.

“We haven’t quite done it over the last few years but we’re just taking each game as it comes,” the England captain explained. “Results, like we’ve got against Arsenal and obviously [Manchester] City a couple of weeks ago, will only help us, so we’ve just got to keep it going.”

“There’s still a long way to go, we’re not getting carried away,” he added. “Of course, we have to believe in ourselves and our capabilities but we also know it can turn around pretty quick if you have a few bad results. We’ve just got to keep trying to win games.”

Kane and Son have now combined for 12 goals this season for Tottenham. Reflecting on his dynamic duo’s hot streak, Spurs manager Jose Mourinho admitted that the pair’s work ethic and chemistry are off the charts.

“I have to admit that Harry [Kane] and Sonny are world-class players and on the top of what they do they have a very good sense of the team,” Mourinho pointed out. “They have a very good sense of the balance that they need and they also do incredible tactical work for the team when the team doesn’t have the ball. So top players, amazing.”
