KEY POINTS

  • Franck Kessie prefers to stay “forever” in San Siro
  • Despite his willingness to stick with AC Milan, his future may not be in his hands
  • There is no word if AC Milan will renew his contract next year

Given the choice, Franck Kessie would prefer to stay with AC Milan rather than move to another club and start anew.

The 24-year-old made this clear in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport even if he has drawn interest from English Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

"I am proud to have chosen Milan and it is not my intention to leave. On the contrary, I want to stay forever," Kessie stated. "I only want Milan; Maldini and Massara know my thoughts. I like it so much when the ultras sing: 'a President, there is only a President ... '. Well, I want to be for life."

But despite his desire to remain with AC Milan, his future may not be in his hands.

Considering he is coming off an impressive season with I Rossoneri, it hardly comes as a surprise that the Gunners and Spurs have their eye on the Ivorian.

Last season, Kessie had 14 goals and had six assists in 50 appearances across all competitions for AC Milan.

He only has one year remaining in his current contract with I Rossoneri, and this is seen as the reason why speculations are growing on whether or not he will stay at San Siro.

As of this writing, AC Milan has not touched on the situation of Kessie. He is currently seeing action for Ivory Coast at the Tokyo Olympics.
