  • Manchester United is not selling Anthony Martial this summer
  • Jadon Sancho's arrival put Martial in jeopardy of being sold
  • Injuries have opened up opportunities for Martial to take advantage of

Ever since the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund happened early into the transfer window, the future of Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has been put in question.

The winger has been with the club since September 2015 when Manchester United paid AS Monaco £36 million ($49 million) and this was the highest transfer fee paid for a teenager--surpassing the club’s acquisition of Luke Shaw for £27 million ($37.4 million) the year prior.

Manchester United has been particularly busy this summer as they swung deals for Sancho and Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane as they hope to break Manchester City’s vice grip on the English Premier League title.

Martial has struggled to find his place at Old Trafford as the club cycled through multiple wingers and him being bitten by the injury bug did not help his case as well.

With Manchester United still looking to make significant transfer signings this year, fans of the Red Devils have been making guesses as to who else the club could move that will net them the most return and Martial was at the top of that list.

However, Martial returned from injury last Saturday in a 4-0 win against Everton and it seems like his future remains secure with Manchester United.

He has been linked to a move to Inter Milan, but it is now believed that Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plans for him.

The team has been hampered by injury with Marcus Rashford being 12 weeks out after shoulder surgery and Jesse Lingard being sidelined due to testing positive for COVID, so Martial has found himself some daylight.

Manchester United will start their road to the top of the Premier League on August 14 as they welcome Leeds United to Old Trafford.
