  • Transfer insider Duncan Castles makes a shocking Kylian Mbappe transfer revelation
  • Castles bares he was told Mbappe’s preference is Liverpool
  • Real Madrid is planning a different strategy in its attempt to sign the PSG star

Despite having several transfer rumors linked to his name, Kylian Mbappe could be sure about where he wants to be.

Mbappe is one of the hottest commodities in modern-day soccer. The French forward has taken Paris Saint-Germain by storm, and it seems like the Ligue 1 champs are keen to keep him on their roster.

However, an array of clubs has been reportedly eyeing a move for Mbappe, including Real Madrid and Liverpool.

In a recent episode of “The Transfer Window” podcast, Sunday Times journalist and renowned transfer insider Duncan Castles revealed that between the two big-name European clubs, Liverpool is Mbappe’s preferred destination.

“He (Mbappe), as we have reported, is keen on moving to one of two leagues for the next stage of his career,” Castles bared. “Either the Premier League where his preference, I am told, would be a move to Liverpool. He likes Manchester United as a club, but his preference would be to work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.”

Meanwhile, Castles bared that Mbappe is choosing between Real Madrid and Barcelona if ever he lands in La Liga. However, the “financial difficulties” in the Spanish top-flight will be a major setback for both clubs.

“Or [he wants to move] to Spain; where Barcelona is an option,” the insider revealed. “But obvious financial difficulties and Real Madrid has pursued him since before he went to PSG [Paris Saint-Germain].”

Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain is set to expire next year. As expected, the French side is hoping for a smooth contract extension.

However, things might not be as easy as it sounds. It was earlier revealed that Mbappe is demanding a monthly salary of €3 million ($3.63 million), a figure “near or equal” to his co-star Neymar's, ESPN reported.

Los Blancos, on the other hand, are said to be coming up with a unique strategy. With the La Liga champs currently having issues financially, club president Florentino Perez will reportedly try and tempt Mbappe to join Real Madrid by offering Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic No.7 shirt, Spanish outlet Marca reported.

It has been publicly known that Mbappe is a huge admirer of Ronaldo, and Florentino hopes to leverage a deal using “the emotional pull” of succeeding the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

At the tender age of 12, Mbappe fulfilled his dream of meeting Ronaldo at Valdebebas. Since then, the report states that the PSG star has held a desire to play for Real Madrid.
