  • Florian Neuhaus looms as a plausible replacement for Gini Wijnaldum
  • Multiple clubs are interested in acquiring the services of Neuhaus
  • Liverpool may pass up on Neuhaus for now and target players in other positions

Liverpool needs to find a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum soon, and it appears they already have someone in mind.

The potential replacement could be Florian Neuhaus, someone who has drawn a comparison to Toni Kroos.

According to AS, there are indications that the Reds will go after the 24-year old midfielder.

However, they are not the only team that has the German footballer on their radar. Teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City are also eyeing the midfielder.

It is speculated that for any team to land Neuhaus, clubs would have to fork out roughly £34.4 million ($48.5 million) to get him to their side.

Hence, it will be up to Jurgen Klopp and company if they are willing to shell out that cash and convince Borussia Monchengladbach to agree to a deal for the German player.

Liverpool continues to look for a replacement for Wijnaldum, who agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain.

Most see the Gladbach midfielder as a plausible choice even if Neuhaus will have pretty big shoes to fill.

However, there are claims that Liverpool may wait another 12 months before pursuing Neuhaus.

Reports have it that the Reds may not target a midfielder this summer and instead opt to find players to fill other positions.

According to Florian Plettenberg, chief reporter at German outlet Sport1, he suggests that a more likely scenario would be to see Neuhaus stay at Gladbach for another calendar year.

This could be a good scenario, allowing head coach Jurgen Klopp to further monitor the progress of the German footballer.

There is no question that Neuhaus can score and is a technically sound player. Those traits alone make him an interesting target.
