  • Leeds United lead teams who may pitch offers for Dan James
  • His stint at Manchester United is up in the air following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo
  • James' exit from Old Trafford looms before the transfer window deadline

Manchester United is giving several teams until Tuesday, August 31 to make an offer for winger Daniel James.

Several English Premier League teams have been made aware of this, with Leeds United believed to be one of the clubs looking into adding the 23-year-old football player.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are ready to listen to offers with the transfer window winding down.

Leeds United has been mentioned as one of those teams, a club that previously came close to signing James from Swansea in January 2019.

The Peacocks' manager Marcelo Bielsa continues to be an admirer of the Welsh player, further backing the possibility of seeing James sign up with Leeds.

James has been trying hard to crack the Manchester United roster. He started in two of the team’s first three Premier League assignments for the season.

However, he struggled in their match against Wolverhampton. He was eventually replaced by Anthony Martial at the 52-minute mark.

A reason seen behind the sudden openness of the Red Devils to allow James to exit Old Trafford is the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.

With the Portuguese now in the mix, it could mean a changeup in the roster that could leave some players like James getting fewer opportunities.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not rule out the possibility of an exit. He pointed out the coming of Ronaldo as something that would mean less playing time not only for James but other players who play as wingers.

"There have been a couple of enquiries for some of our players, and with the signing of Cristiano, we may give less playing time to a few,” Solskjaer stated. "Dan is a Man United player at the moment."

Aside from Leeds, other teams believed to be interested in James include Everton, Brighton and Crystal Palace.
