  • The Red Devils are close to terms with Raphael Varane
  • Manchester United might settle for a Vinicius loan spell due to financial restriction

Real Madrid has a ton of holes to address this summer and new team boss Carlos Ancelotti is slowly addressing it one by one.

The team is looking for replacements in the attacking and defending departments specifically as the departure of longtime captain Sergio Ramos has left a gaping hole in the backfield while their attack has been somewhat lackluster.

They are also at risk of losing Raphael Varane to English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United after they have given the 28-year-old permission to talk to the Red Devils for a potential transfer this summer.

However, Real Madrid also has their eyes set on making a big splash this summer as they are planning to offload contracts in pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

To help finance the potential bid, Real Madrid has offered promising 21-year-old winger Vinicius Junior to Manchester United as they bid for Varane.

Vinicius arrived at the Bernabeu in the summer of 2018 that cost the club £36 million ($49.6 million) in transfer fees to bring him in from Brazilian Serie A side Flamengo.

In 118 appearances for Real Madrid, the winger has only scored 15 goals--with eight of them coming from the league.

The youngster sure has talent as he swiftly navigates the field in search of goal-scoring opportunities, but the problem is that he’s been highly inconsistent in his past three years at Real Madrid.

Varane is getting extremely close to agreeing to terms with Manchester United, and Real Madrid also wants to include Vinicius in the deal for a cool £68.5 million ($94.3 million).

Manchester United is not expected to take on the young winger as their winger depth has gotten extremely deep thanks to the imminent arrival of Jadon Sancho and the return of Jesse Lingard from being loaned to West Ham United.

Rumors suggest that despite their winger depth, however, Manchester United is gauging interest in Vinicius.

Should they choose to have him on the club, it will most likely be for a loan term that has the potential to be bought outright next summer as the club simply cannot afford Vinicius right now.
