  • Thiago Alcantara has officially informed Bayen Munich management of his planned exit this summer
  • Bayern Munich has not received any offer for Thiago Alcantara
  • Liverpool may be holding out due to budget issues

Thiago Alcantara has informed Bayern Munich management of his desire to move elsewhere but no formal offers for his services have been made so far. This was confirmed by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who is awaiting any formal offer from Liverpool or other clubs who could be interested in the services of the 29-year-old midfielder.

Thiago has made a name for himself, winning 14 major trophies at Allianz Arena since moving from Barcelona in 2013. That run included seven consecutive Bundesliga titles. He has a year left in his contract but it appears the Spaniard but it appears he wants to try his luck playing for another club, Goal.com reported.

And that club appears to be Liverpool F.C. Jurgen Klopp expressed his admiration for the Spanish midfielder and such has fuelled a possible move to Anfield. This comes not long after Thiago had reportedly wanted a four-year deal from Bayern. Die Roten was only willing to hand him a three-year term. Aside from that, it was also mentioned in a previous report that Thiago seemed very sure of moving to Liverpool.

Rummenigge also revealed that Thiago had already made sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic aware of his desire to move out of Allianz Arena. It appears that talks went along well. However, it remains that no club has made a pitch for the services of the 29-year-old player. The Reds may be still trying to stand its ground on wanting a $22 million deal for Thiago. Bayen is asking 45 million for the Spanish player.

"Hasan had talks with Thiago. They were always very positive, but he told Hasan some time ago that he wants to do something new to finish his career," Rummenigge said. "So far no club has contacted us. We don't know if he's settled things with a new club."

Rummenigge also added that they were open to possibly extending Thiago. But if that is not feasible, they are ready to move on and look at other options.

Bayern manager Hansi Flick knows the concerns of Thiago, particularly about playing years. However, he is powerless on the matter and all he can do is try to convince the Spanish player.

And while most are singling out Liverpool as his likely next club, there are other teams also interested in Thiago. The list includes Manchester United who is on the prowl for players who can fit their budget.
