On Sunday, Taylor Swift stated in a Tumblr post that she had been kept in the dark regarding the label that housed her music being sold to Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings. In the blog, Swift called the move "her worst case scenario" and stated that she did not find out what had happened until she heard about it in the media. Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta has now spoken publicly about this and said that he does not believe the "ME!" singer was being truthful in her statement.

Borchetta revealed his side of the story in a blog posted to Big Machine's site on Sunday night titled "So, It’s Time for Some Truth." In it, he states that he, in fact, personally text Swift about the sale ahead of time. He said he intentionally did that "so she could hear it directly from me."

Continuing, the label head said he was confident that she heard the news from the shareholders who were on the June call regarding the sale if she had not received his message.

“I guess it might somehow be possible that her dad Scott [Swift], 13 Management lawyer Jay Schaudies (who represented Scott Swift on the shareholder calls) or 13 Management executive and Big Machine LLC shareholder Frank Bell (who was on the shareholder calls) didn’t say anything to Taylor over the prior 5 days. I guess it’s possible that she might not have seen my text. But, I truly doubt that she ‘woke up to the news when everyone else did,'" Borchetta wrote.

The executive went on to counter Swift's account of the events by also stating that the singer had privately tried to negotiate with Big Machine ahead of the transaction with Braun, who serves as Borchetta's new partner, as reported by Billboard.

In Swift's post, she wrote, “I walked away because I knew once I signed that contract, Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future.”

However, Borchetta had a different point of view about what had transpired. "Taylor had every chance in the world to own not just her master recordings, but every video, photograph, everything associated to her career. She chose to leave," he wrote.

Concluding he wrote, "And, that’s the truth..."

All of this comes on the heels of Swift getting public support from celebrity friends, including Halsey, and, in contrast, public accusations from Justin Bieber that she came forward in an attempt to get sympathy. Swift has yet to comment about Borchetta's newest addition to the ongoing disagreement about how the events transpired.
