A few weeks ago it was reported that Brad Pitt might have moved on from Angelina Jolie by getting involved in a relationship with actress Alia Shawkat. But now a report claims that that pair is not dating and are just friends.

According to E! News, the 55-year-old actor and the “Arrested Development” star are not in a relationship and are spending time together because they share the same interests. A source told the publication that they are not a couple and nothing romantic is going on between them.

The source further stated that the “Ad Astra” star has a lot of friends in his life and she is just one of them.

The rumors about their romance first surfaced when they were spotted together at the opening of the show "A Play is a Poem” in Los Angeles on Sept. 21. Last month, they were seen together attending a play and even stood together with the play’s lead actor, Mike Birbiglia, for a photo backstage.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, Pitt and Shawkat stepped out for an art exhibition in Los Angeles. An Instagram user posted a set of photos where both the actors can be seen talking to each other at the Wilding Cran Gallery.

This is not the first time the “Moneyball” star is in the news regarding dating rumors. After his divorce from Jolie, the actor was reportedly dating jewelry designer Sat Hari Khalsa. But it was later confirmed that they are not dating and any rumor of romance between the two is entirely false.

Khalsa was not the only woman he was linked to. Since his separation, Pitt has been linked to celebrities like Charlize Theron, Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller. But none of those rumors turned out to be true.

Alhough Jolie and Pitt are yet to finalize their divorce, there have been a lot of claims that the “Maleficent” actress still has a lot of resentment towards Brad. A source told Us Weekly that the “Unbroken” helmer wants her ex-lover to be held accountable for turning her and her children’s lives upside down.

Jolie has already filed for divorce and cited irreconcilable differences as a reason for the separation. She also requested sole physical custody of their six kids — Shiloh, 13, Maddox, 18, Knox, 11, Zahara, 14, Pax, 15, Vivienne, 11.
