There’s an update for the tvOS operating system of the Apple TV that users will really like. This update is for developers only, but its use and practicality will be carried over to the user experience the device brings.

According to 9To5Mac, this new update improves the iTunes Link Maker, so developers can now share direct links of their tvOS apps to users. Before, users have to go through the Apple TV App Store just to look for a certain app. With this update, users can easily search for the apps they like and access them via the direct links.

The direct links will also come in handy for iPhone, iPad, Mac and PC users. The App Store on these devices already show tvOS apps. With the update, users can get the direct links to the tvOS apps they want to view or download. Because of this, users can download the app for their Apple TV straight from their iOS, Mac or computer device.

Apple appears to be constantly making some changes to tvOS. Just this April, it introduced the ability to generate links to web previews of tvOS apps. Then, in September, the Cupertino giant added the automatic download option to the Apple TV OS. Now that developers can provide direct links to their apps via the latest update, their reach to potential customers is expected to widen, as per MacStories.

The news about the improvement in the iTunes Link Maker comes days after Apple seeded the second developer beta of tvOS 10.1 for the fourth-generation Apple TV. 9To5Mac noted in a separate report that the upcoming tvOS 10.1 update is going to bring the single sign-on feature to the Apple TV, making it easier for the system to authenticate with cable providers to unlock all paid video apps. However, users should wait a little longer because tvOS 10.1 is not hitting the Apple TV until early December.
