Fox News host Maria Bartiromo caused quite a frenzy over the weekend after she claimed sources told her that the White House sees Russian President Vladimir Putin as more of a “partner” rather than an enemy amid the Ukraine invasion.

During an episode of “Sunday Morning Futures,” Bartiromo suggested President Joe Biden wasn’t interested in truly helping Ukraine defeat Russia.

“Some people have told me over the weekend that they feel that, at the end of the day, this administration does not see Putin as the enemy, they see him as a partner,” she said.

Not long after her comments, Bartiromo’s name began trending on Twitter, with users reacting to her unfounded claims about Biden working with Putin.

“I would trust sushi from a gas station before I trust what comes out of Maria Bartiromo’s mouth,” one user posted.

Another person suggests Bartiromo may have been wine drunk when she reported the story. “Maria Bartiromo drank 3 bags of Franzia then told Fox viewers that ‘some people over the weekend’ told her Biden doesn’t see Putin as an enemy, but a partner. Sure, Kirstie Alley of Fox News,” the tweet reads, referring to the box wine brand.

During an interview on Fox News, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., revealed he was one of the sources that gave Bartiromo the information.

“The Biden administration looks at Putin as a partner for climate change and an Iran Deal maker rather than a war criminal,” he said.

“Biden is more afraid of Putin losing than he is excited about Ukraine winning. Let you hear it from me. Victory for Ukraine!”

Graham then alluded to his previous comments in which he suggested the Russian president needed to be assassinated. “The only way this war ends is with Putin going to jail or being taken out by his own people,” he said.

Graham went on to insist that Ukrainians could succeed against Putin but needed help from allies like the U.S.
