Chris Evans is People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2021 and the netizens couldn't help but gush over the "Captain America" star.

Evans, 40, is no doubt one of the hottest actors of this generation. The "Avengers" star just landed the coveted "Sexiest Man Alive" cover, multiple sources confirmed to Page Six. Evans' fans and supporters immediately rallied on Twitter to celebrate the news, with many of them agreeing with the magazine's choice.

"Chris Evans, Sexiest Man Alive 2021. WBK AND ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME," one tweeted.

"Apparently @people is set to name @ChrisEvans as this year's Sexiest Man Alive and I couldn’t agree more. He’s been my sexiest man alive every year since this scene," another wrote while sharing a shirtless photo of Evans from one of his films.

Meanwhile, many of the netizens have been looking forward to seeing Evans on the "Sexiest Man Alive" cover. Some said that he deserves it and they have been waiting for it for years.

"From what I’ve seen………. Chris Evans is gonna be the cover/hold the title this year for [the] sexiest man alive. Idk how or why it took this long, but we’re finally getting it," one fan wrote.

"OMG Chris Evans rumored to be the sexiest man alive this year …..finally the people are coming to their senses," a second user added.

"Did y'all just finally realize Chris Evans is the sexiest man alive just now? Cause he literally was the hottest man decades ago," a different netizen commented.

Page Six's source claimed that he was slated to grace the cover last year, but the bosses allegedly decided to feature another actor after the Marvel star accidentally uploaded a photo of his penis on his Instagram Story.

"Chris was in discussions to take the cover last year, but it was not great timing," an unnamed source told the outlet.

The incident happened on Sept. 12, 2020, when Evans shared a screen recording of his family playing a game of "Heads Up." He shared the clip without trimming it and the camera roll appeared on the screen with a black and white photo of a penis at the end. He quickly deleted the video but not before his fans were able to capture screenshots and bring them to Twitter for further discussion, making it to the top of the trending page.

"Black Panther" star Michael B. Jordan won the title last year.
