With his title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov taking place this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Conor McGregor is already mapping out potential future fights for himself.

McGregor takes on Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in a highly-anticipated contest for the lightweight title. There is a lot of hype and anticipation behind this fight, particularly given the rivalry between the two fighters and the fact that this will be McGregor's return to the octagon for the first time in nearly two years.

However, with fight week upon us, the big question is whether the bout will actually happen. While he has comfortably made the 155-pound weight for his last two fights, Nurmagomedov has had weight cutting as well as injury issues in the past that have called off some of his fights.

That along with roster-wide weight cutting problems in general has seen the UFC book Tony Ferguson against Anthony Pettis in the co-main event should anything happen to either McGregor or Nurmagomedov.

While Ferguson would be the likely replacement, would McGregor fight either him or Pettis if Nurmagomedov were to pull out?

“I’ve already been mapping out what I would want to do next,” McGregor told The Mac Life in an interview. “I know that Pettis and Ferguson are in the co-main and originally, about a month or two ago, in preparation for this and when this fight got announced, I was like man, if Khabib bottles this fight, like he’s bottled many fights before, I don't think I give a f--k about those other two, no disrespect to those other two."

"I think I would’ve just stepped back into the shadows and got that man somewhere else outside of here. But now that I’m here and I’m back and I'm close, I think if he didn’t show up then I would take a fight against either one of those, but I’m already mapping out what’s next in my head," he said.

What could be next after UFC 229 for the Irishman?

Fellow two-weight champion Georges St-Pierre is one who has spoken about potentially facing the winner of the main event while welterweight champion Tyron Woodley recently revealed he wanted McGregor to win so they could both fight.

In addition, UFC 230 takes place in November with Nate Diaz taking on Dustin Poirier and a trilogy fight with the former would be a lucrative option for McGregor, especially if it involves a 165-pound title. No matter what happens in the end, the 30-year-old says he is keeping his eye on everyone.

“Dustin and Nate are competing, I know that the 170-pounds belt has also just been defended and I know Tyron is itching for that fight, like they all f-----g are," McGregor added. "Georges [St-Pierre] is test cutting 155 and I know everyone is around looking for it. I’m here, I’m ready so lets see what happens. I’ve got my eye on everyone."
