  • Kamaru Usman beat Colby Covington via TKO last month
  • Covington is a very vocal supporter of US President Donald Trump
  • Masvidal made fun of Covington when asked in a podcast interview

BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal had a good time talking about Colby Covington and his connection to US President Donald Trump.

In an interview with The Ariel Helwani MMA Show, current BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal said that he has not seen Covington at the gym since the loss to Usman. Asked about Covington’s presence in the ring, Masvidal had fun answering it. “As soon as he got his jaw broken, no man,” said the 35-year old.

Masvidal also shared their conversation with another UFC Lightweight Dustin Poirier, who also had his share of hate towards Covington. “D is going to get upset that I’m even saying this because it’s locker room talk, but, he’s like, ‘Yo man, where the fuck is Colby?’ So I’m like, don’t even worry about him because he’s on witness protection program,” revealed Masvidal. “When you see this dude, you can’t even touch him,” said reports from MMA Mania.

”‘I’m telling you, I am going to f--- his a-- up, I’m tired of this s---.’ So I tell him (Poirier) he’s got like, I don’t know if Trump hired them or something, but he’s got secret service for him. It’s nuts because you can’t even look at the guy, he’s got too many people,” Masvidal replied.

After his devastating loss to Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight title, the news we heard about Covington was when he was watching an NBA game of, what appears to be, Golden State Warriors from the sidelines with rapper Lil Pump.

There is no announced next fight for Masvidal just yet but during the break, “Gamebred” is still keeping himself in shape.

“2019 is just a preview of what the f--- I’m gonna do to people”, Masvidal said. “I just left the gym right now, sharpening these f------ tools for future opponents,” he shared.
