As Conor McGregor is looking for his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) return, he has made it quite clear he wants a rematch against the lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The former UFC champion has been away since the controversial ending to the UFC 229 PPV in October where he suffered a loss to Nurmagomedov and that resulted in an all-out brawl.

According to Nurmagomedov, McGregor will have to work really hard to earn the rematch and get another shot at the title.

While there have been rumors that if McGregor and Nurmagomedov won their respective next bouts, the two could face each other in 2020. However, Nurmagomedov has other ideas, which he revealed in a recent press conference in Russia.

Nurmagomedov has asked McGregor to win 10 straight fights in a row in order to earn a rematch against him.

"As for a rematch, to fight for a belt in the UFC, I remember I had something like nine or 10 fights. If he wins 10 fights in a row, then that’s completely possible," Nurmagomedov, who was in Moscow last week for an event, added.

Ever since McGregor lost to Nurmagomedov in October, he has asked for a rematch. He also cited that a foot injury he suffered leading up to their massive fight was one of the major reasons for his loss as it did not allow him to be his 100%.

Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov, who is in talks to next face Tony Ferguson, has asked the UFC to schedule the bout in New York instead of UFC's preferred venue of Las Vegas.

La Vegas' Nevada State Athletic Commission had fined and suspended him for a post-fight brawl after his bout with McGregor.

"They offered me to fight in Vegas in March, but I told them that if Vegas officially apologizes for wrongly fining me for that incident on October 6, 2018, then I’ll fight there. If not, then they can assign me to another date. As far as I know, they’re planning in April to hold (a fight card) somewhere in New York, so I’m saying I’m ready for April, or March if Las Vegas apologizes," Nurmagomedov told MMA Junkie.
