Jon Jones is on top of the world right now and is undoubtedly one of the big targets in the UFC. There are mixed martial artists who have taken aim at him, each believing they have what it takes to take "Bones" down and deal him his first official defeat in the Octagon.

That list includes Cain Velasquez who, at 36 years old, believes he is "good enough" to hand Jones his first defeat. But if the reigning light heavyweight champion believes that, the former two-time UFC heavyweight champion will need to have his confidence on lock in order to bring him down. Bones responded to Velasquez on his Instagram account.

In the post, Jones also said that it would be best for both to focus on their upcoming fights for now. Velasquez will be facing Francis Ngannou this weekend at UFC on ESPN at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, while Jones' next fight will be against Anthony Smith at UFC 235 on March 2, MMA Fighting reported.

"For now let’s just focus on the fights ahead of us. My heavyweight days are inevitable," Jones said.

There is no certainty of Jones facing Velasquez next, something that needs to be deeply discussed. Also, Jones would need to move up in weight for that UFC clash to happen. And if that last line is any indication, Bones may be considering it after that fight with Smith next month.

Jones is a heavy favorite to win over Smith at UFC 235. Moments after the 31-year-old defeated Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 via third-round TKO, Smith suggested that both of them were on a collision course on his social media account, something that did not sit well with the reigning UFC light heavyweight champ.

Aside from Smith, Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar have also been linked to a potential fight with Jones. After his clash with "Lionheart," it will be interesting if the UFC will arrange a blockbuster thereafter.

Despite being a heavy favorite over Smith, Jones insists he is not taking his opponent lightly. He faces the 30-year-old fighter riding a three-fight winning streak. That includes wins over Volkan Oezdemir, Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua.

“When you are fighting a guy no one expects to win as the favorite you have to be smart enough and mature enough to stay at the drawing board, stay in practice, take your opponent very seriously. I take Anthony Smith extremely serious. He has 40 fights, double the fights I have. He’ll get my full, undivided attention,” Jones said in a report from Sherdog.com.
